A Seamless Connection

Since its construction in 1967, Garner High School has undergone numerous renovations and additions. In response to capacity issues and to enhance the student experience, we undertook a comprehensive evaluation and redesign, aligning the campus with contemporary standards and codes.

Designed to Unify

The existing campus was comprised eight buildings and multiple modular units, totaling nearly 330,000 SF on a 69-acre parcel. Our approach addresses site challenges, enhances security measures, and improves classroom environments, fostering an ideal learning atmosphere for students. Our solution features a four-story classroom tower strategically angled to optimize solar orientation and unify the renovated facilities into one secure building.

School Pride

The reclaimed gym floor from old Garner High breathes new life into the lobby and gym entrance of the modern campus, seamlessly blending past and future.

Teamwork

We collaborated closely with WCPSS, engineers, and the construction manager to develop phasing plans for each design option, ensuring achievable timelines, cost-effective swing space strategies, and student safety
