Creating Intimate Student Communities

Walnut Grove Center addresses Indiana University’s rising need for on-campus accommodations while placing student wellness at the forefront. By breaking the large residence hall into four distinct buildings and strategically organizing public amenities, we create intimate student communities and enhance the sense of community on the campus edge.

The Impact

Providing housing for approximately 700 students, Walnut Grove Center offers a range of residential choices, including single and multiple occupancy rooms, lounge areas, and study spaces. Situated overlooking N. Walnut Grove Street, a vital thoroughfare connecting the university’s sports stadiums and other campus residences, the center features prominent communal lounges that offer stunning views of IU’s expansive grove. At night, the lounges act as colorful glowing beacons to welcome students home on their way back from class or practice.
