A look ahead at highly anticipated projects expected to open in 2026, including luxury hotels, innovative adaptive reuse, and state-of-the-art facilities for K12, STEM, performing arts, and athletics.
Grand Gardner Hotel
Grand Gardner Hotel is a 58-key boutique hotel created through the adaptive reuse of Valparaiso’s historic 1899 Gardner School, expanded with two integrated additions housing a guestroom wing and a ballroom and restaurant. The design blends historic character with contemporary hospitality, transforming the building’s academic legacy into crafted interiors and inviting public spaces that craft a unique new destination for the downtown.
Amplify Hancock
Amplify Hancock represents a deliberate departure from the traditional vocational model, designed to advance career-connected learning through immersive, hands-on environments that reflect the high-tech workplaces students will enter after graduation. The center expands access to high-quality education and workforce training opportunities for both high school and adult learners. Amplify Hancock demonstrates how intentional design and strong partnerships can redefine the learning experience while strengthening the region’s future workforce.
Ball State University Performing Arts Center
The Ball State University Village is transforming, anchored by the new Performing Arts Center. This 60,000 SF state-of-the-art facility features a 450-seat Proscenium Theatre and a 200-seat Performance Theatre. It includes cutting-edge spaces for set design, costume design, lighting, sound, and dressing rooms to support year-round student performances.
Integrated with an adjacent hotel, the center will feature a restaurant and rooftop bar, promoting a vibrant arts community. This facility enhances performance and learning at Ball State and serves as a vital recruitment tool.
Deming Park Pool
The transformation of Terre Haute’s Deming Park Pool revitalizes the existing facility into a state-of-the-art aquatic center. Renovations include a redesigned pool shell with zero-depth beach entry, a fully renovated bathhouse, new accessible gender-neutral family bathrooms, and updated water treatment systems. Located in Terre Haute’s oldest park, built from George Kessler’s 1913 Park and Boulevard Plan, the project combines thoughtful, strategic design with community-focused improvements that enhance recreation for all ages.
IU Indianapolis James T. Morris Arena
A transformational arena anchoring the growing campus of IU Indianapolis while providing an intimate multi-purpose venue for the broader community. The arena is seamlessly integrated into its site by directly addressing neighboring context, with a pure and simple architectural language.
Cranes Landing
Mercy Housing’s Cranes Landing will deliver innovative housing in an integrated healthcare community focused on healing-centered design and culturally responsive services for Native American and Alaska Native individuals. Developed in partnership with Denver Indian Health & Family Services (DIHFS), Native American Housing Circle, and WellPower, the project will include 94 permanent supportive homes, 96 affordable apartments for families, and a new Federally Qualified Health Center operated by DIHFS. Designed in collaboration with Amaktoolik Studios, the project reflects a community-centered process that prioritizes Indigenous representation and participation in the design.
Signia by Hilton Indianapolis
Signia by Hilton Indianapolis is a 38-story, 803-key convention headquarters hotel designed as a seamless extension of Indianapolis’s civic and convention fabric. The tower translates the energy of large-scale conventions into a refined architectural and guest experience, balancing clarity, craft, and performance across its public spaces, interiors, and skyline presence. The result is a category-defining destination where hospitality design and urban identity are shaped as one.
ISU Bailey College of Engineering & Technology
Indiana State University’s Bailey College of Engineering & Technology’s transformation and expansion advance the facility to meet the demands of 21st-century education. A full renovation of the existing Technology Annex, along with strategic additions to the north and southwest, creates a cohesive and future-ready academic environment. The reimagined facility enhances technology-rich classrooms and labs, maker spaces, and collaborative learning environments that support multidisciplinary programs and hands-on education.
