RATIO established effective room, furniture and signage standards for the new headquarters that also could be implemented across other Vontier offices and further advance the brand’s presence. The design team also worked with the client to study the integration of COVID signage with their larger wayfinding and branding strategy, utilizing plans overlayed with signage to identify locations, typology, and directives for how spaces should be used. This thoughtful process helped Vontier meet their goals and confirm that all necessary protocols and policies for both employees and visitors were covered.
Sustainable elements are also part of the expansion’s design. The exterior building envelope is modulated based on solar orientation, giving consideration to daylighting and views. HVAC and lighting systems are designed to automatically adjust or shut down during periods of limited demand, resulting in reduced energy consumption. Last, air quality is increased through use of sustainable construction materials, and recycling accommodations for building occupants are located throughout the building.
