The Union forms the centerpiece of this diverse campus and provides a social hub for the next-generation student. This third-time expansion makes better planning sense of the original 1960s and 1980s remodeling that no longer meets the needs of today’s students and faculty.

Health & Wellness

Occupant health and wellness was a major concern of owner and was addressed through healthy food options in the dining areas, the utilization of ample glazing for daylighting and views to nature, a sunshade system to decrease glare and thermal heat gain, and biophilic de-sign strategies such as visual connections to nature and the use of natural wood materials and a massive green wall in the main “living room”.

Student Dining

Project included an entirely-renovated central kitchen, two serveries, two dining halls, and a grab-and-go coffee station. Bon Appetit to provide students healthy food options within a space that promoted access to daylight, exterior views, and natural materials.
