We were thrilled to gather with colleagues, clients, and friends to kick off 2022 with a celebration of design excellence. This year’s sold-out gala showcased the impact architects are having on the way people experience our cities, neighborhoods, streetscapes and natural environments. It was a privilege to have the gala take place in the Frank & Judy O’Bannon Great Hall at the Indiana State Museum, another RATIO project. The museum celebrates 20 years this year.
Following the firm’s success in past years, RATIO received 5 prestigious design & architecture awards from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Indianapolis.
Honor Award
Interior Architecture / Fit-Out for Cummins Corporate Office Building Renovation
“Members of the jury recognized the immense challenge of working with such an iconic building. The architects managed to create intimate moments with a neighborhood feel within such a massive space. The jury appreciated the careful restraint of the material palette and felt it was used extremely well. The architects managed to create a dramatic transformation in lighting within the space with subtle changes. The largest impacts of the space are subtle changes, not dramatic changes, and the jury felt this was accomplished with extremely careful editing.”

New Building (Project cost less than $5 million) for Rose Hulman Institute of Technology Pi-Vilion
“The jury felt it was an amazing space for student congregation and appreciated that the design was meant to juxtapose the adjacent structures and not blend in. The project is expressive, yet subtle, and the jury appreciated the intentional environmental response, green roof, and shading.
